CANOE-CAMP THE GARAM - SLOVAKIA

Details

CANOE-CAMP the GARAM … incredibly priced at just £325 per person.

WELCOME TO THIS, the next in our series of 'canoe-camp' adventures as we continue our journey of discovery exploring the waterways of the mighty Danube.

PLEASE NOTE - this trip should be booked via our main site, Fitness Adventures Midlands Meetup Group, at:

https://www.meetup.com/Fitness-Adventures-Midlands/events/266750271/

THIS YEAR, WE RETURN TO THE RIVER GARAM (Hron in Slovak) which offers some of the best and most remote canoeing waters in Slovakia. Whilst our journey begins and ends in Hungary, our canoe-camp adventure will be in Slovakia. The nearby Duna-Ipoly National Park is an unspoilt corner of Eastern Europe.

AFTER THE INCREDIBLE SUCCESS of “Canoe-Camp the Danube” adventures in May 2018 and May 2019, our latest bespoke adventure is another of our privately organised experiences that you will not find in any of the glossy brochures. This short video gives an insight into the hospitality of the trip:

PRICED AT JUST £325 (excluding flights), our adventure includes:

1 … Four days canoeing / kayaking the River Garam and the Danube

2 … Optional walks to unspoilt Slovakian villages

3 … Three nights "wild" camping on the banks of the Garam

4 ... Traditional 'home-prepared' Hungarian breakfasts and dinners

You can secure your place with a non-returnable deposit of £50 (£52.50 if paid by PayPal).

Please message me for a full description of the trip as Meetup now limits posting of events to just 4,000 characters. Reviews of previous "Canoe-Camp the Danube" adventures can be found at:

“Canoe-Camp the Garam” is perfect for beginners and more experienced paddlers alike. Our adventure offers nomadic conditions; sleeping under “canvas”, eating authentic, freshly prepared, Hungarian food around the camp fire and bonding with nature; you will return home invigorated.

Our Hungarian hosts for the weekend have established their wonderful canoeing and hiking business on the banks of the Danube at Zebegény, a picturesque and historic village in Pest county. The privilege of spending time with Endre and Mariann, their family and friends allows us to gain an insight into the culture, traditions and folklore of both Hungary and Slovakia.

Endre (main picture) will lead the canoe-camp adventure whilst Mariann will spoil us with her amazing, authentic and traditional Hungarian cuisine; something not to be missed!

Whilst the Danube may get all the glory, the River Garam offers one of the last remaining stretches of a wild river in Slovakia; wetlands and wildlife abound. There is a lack of awareness around the beauty of the many watercourses which criss-cross the Carpathian Basin.

IMPORTANT - we can make no guarantee about precise itineraries as these must be decided by safety reasons, weather conditions and natural obstacles.

KIT LIST - a suggested kit list will be provided when you sign up for the trip. However, the following are mandatory (1) - Insurance; (2) - Closed toed, soft sole shoes; (3) - Waterproof jacket; (4) - Head-torch.

THE DETAIL - a non-refundable deposit of £50 payable via UK bank transfer (£52:50 payable via Paypal to take into account their fees) will secure your place on our "Canoe-Camp the Garam" adventure. The balancing payment of £275 falls due on 1 March 2020; you risk forfeiting your place (and losing your deposit) if payment is not made on time.

PLEASE NOTE … return flights are NOT included, leaving you free to make your own travel arrangements to Budapest from your preferred airport.

THE SMALL PRINT - by joining this trip, you will be agreeing to the Group’s cancellation policy, available upon request.

IN PARTICULAR – by joining the trip you also confirm acceptance of the Group’s “TERMS AND DISCLAIMER”, clearly expressed on our Home Page … select “HOME” from the site menu and click on “About us …”
