Seakayak Foundation Weekend Lake Brienz: Skills & Rescue

We're running a Sea Kayak Skills Weekend down at Lake Brienz at our beautiful Base introducing the skills on our turquoise waters with lots of tips and tricks during the day to make paddling easier and more efficient.

This weekend is open to all and we'll give you a good grounding in the foundation sea kayak skills of efficient forwards paddling, turning and edging and getting in and out without getting wet, getting you off on your way in this great sport.

The second day is then run as a rescue day, and is spent learning how to rescue each other, yourself and deal with incidents on the water. This weekend is recommended also for those wanting to join one of our weekend trips.

Booking your place
Please note that places on our trips and courses are limited and are assigned on a first come first served basis based on bookings made through our website, so your place will only be confirmed once you have completed the booking process and we have received your payment. Payment can be made by bank transfer or through our secure credit card provider and full course or trip details will then be provided upon booking. Please note that RSVPs made without completing a booking will not reserve you a place. We thank you for your understanding.

Weather
One of the great things about the sport is that we can go out in almost any weather and still have a great day out, whether that’s on a beautiful calm day, a day with rain drops all around or a day with the challenge of wind and waves. And after many years on the water, we can honestly say that we’ve never had a bad day, and that each day offers something special. In stormy or very windy conditions however, the trip may be cancelled and you will be offered an alternative trip/course date or a full refund.

Accommodation
Should you need accommodation we recommend the cozy, family-owned Hotel Oberländerhof with free parking, breakfast and a lovely restaurant with a terrasse overlooking the lake. Situated 4 minutes walk from our base and 8-minute bus/car ride from Interlaken.

Facilities
We have lockers for our guests to store all their valuables and luggage storage. Our base is located at The Beach - Strandbad Bönigen and as we are also running the Strandbad, our tour/course guests are welcome to use the facilities free of charge after the course day. There's a beach for swimming and lawn are to relax and sunbathe and a restaurant with very tasty food and drinks.
