Canterbury Trails ~10k night trail run followed by pub drinks ๐ป
Details
*Location/pub TBC a couple days before each run*
**During this time of the year our runs will be completely in the dark, often on muddy, slippery trails depending on the weather so good trail shoes are highly recommended. Don't forget your head torches/body lamps and hi-viz/reflective items of clothing and/or accessories so you can be seen by cars from behind and in front if we have to run some stretches on roads. **
We are a friendly group of people who love a mid-week adventure and enjoy running off road on new footpaths and trails every week, socialising with others along the way and in the pub afterwards and we are always happy to see new faces at our Wednesday runs :)
Our runs are aimed at experienced runners who don't shy away from uneven single trails and going up plenty of hills. We usually run at a steady pace around 6:15min/km but always wait at corners and gates for slower runners to catch up (if you are able to run a 10k off-road in an hour you should be fine with our pace). Our routes never stay the same and we always start from a different country pub every week (usually confirmed 1-2 days before) where we have a well deserved drink afterwards and sometimes even dinner :)
So if you enjoy running off-road on (during winter often pretty muddy) trails, don't fear the hills and don't mind not knowing what each week's route will throw at you, then this is the right run club for you! You should come and join us for some trail fun through the Kent countryside! ๐
If you are new, please feel free to contact us in advance to ask any questions you may have.
THINGS WE RECOMMEND YOU TO BRING:
- head torch or some other form of lamp
- reflective/hi-viz clothing/accessories
- warm clothes to change into for afterwards when you cool down
- clean pair of shoes for the pub (especially when the trails are very wet)
- spare pair of socks
- plastic bag for your dirty trainers
- and a good sense of humour ;)
BE AWARE you sometimes can get quite muddy and wet during our runs!! But this is all part of the fun!! :D
