The film tells the story of Scottish psychiatrist R. D. Laing, who worked out of Kingsley Hall in East London during the 1960s and 1970s. He conducted experiments on people diagnosed with mental illness, using unconventional methods like a self-healing process called metanoia. His approach stirred controversy in the medical community but ultimately helped transform how mental health was viewed worldwide.
