Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony @ Pioneer Square

Let's go watch the Portland Tree Lighting Ceremony and mark the official start of the Christmas season.

The 41st Annual Portland Tree Lighting Ceremony lights up downtown Friday, November 28, 2025, from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at Pioneer Courthouse Square.

We will plan to meet near the Starbucks at the top of the square near the Bank of America ATM by 5:15 pm.

Thomas Lauderdale from Pink Martini leads the sing-along with local musicians and chorale singers.

The chorus of voices from performers and the crowd lead up to the big moment. Santa Claus flips the switch lighting the 75-foot Douglas fir illuminated with nearly 10,000 colorful lights.
