Hello Climbing Canyoneers,
This time we are combining Rock Climbing and Canyoneering (However, you can do only one or the other)

Participation:
While this event is open to all, please note:
This is NOT a Rock Climbing or Canyoneering class. If you’ve never done these activities and don’t have all personal gear listed below - This is NOT for you!

The Plan:
Saturday
- Leave (I’m in San Fernando Valley) around 8am (check YOUR timing)
- Fill gas + pickup or eat lunch in Ridgecrest or Trona (much less selection) or bring your own
- Meet here NO LATER THAN 11am - https://maps.app.goo.gl/V8Ukc9hvDBWvNazU9
* I'll need to know if anyone is carpooling so I know how many cars I'm waiting for
- 11am - Drive to Parking spot which is right at the bottom of the last rappel - https://goo.gl/maps/2mWdmRa1mZqJN7Zm6
- 11:30-17:00 Set up Top-ropes and enjoy some rock climbing. Leaders can do that too (bring your ropes & draws).
Climbing info here: https://www.mountainproject.com/area/120924949/great-falls-basin
- 17:00 - Setup camp/tents. Cook dinners. Campfire

Sunday
- 7:30 -12:00 Canyon run - Great Falls Basin (aka Trona Falls) - [http://ropewiki.com/Great_Falls_Basin](https://meet.meetup.com/ls/click?upn=m4XP8Q0dAHY7lR95K-2B2LF0J3EOk65R8UiVBwNmcr7gSbcKPclOUotql9zpSr6SHu2f9__0SCGOXCIK-2BTWYFqsJjKHL0NkTt1SH6eTPJoqFi7BCMH94C6UpPqyAArLyhMl3aE0cAlHJOy02CZwk-2FOznXYEYBSTDPX7lW4yC1eJMhL-2FrP8YFXBCshUm9fLRui-2FzleuoaMyX4J8uIocnd8iy6ddxfvfokpxUY35CgxsffkctfniU8umF6VBoELOCiFKliWLEKhx-2FM47OmDthRZkCv28SP56U5o86ciiR-2BxUEfQIIg2AroKaPFrus6Q7P9604Xq1qxIabWaULD3KZXDLfVf-2BvGHp-2FpmXZTNVODK2k2gV3K-2B8YmGlu3qp8KM3WLq3Vz3SVf6b4TLdD2k1-2FH-2BD4p6bslBHqv62QhlWX0T1-2F6FwsvT8Tah-2F3R8gCc3do9mUUJ2C1GWM-2BV2SuE0eebDKLHF7d7Zr6dXnS155GQ6JKpl4W-2BO30kyjNQeJ8xW8zznfSMdTPvSutTPu2WxP0u7-2FPIPggL26JenbJDThmM-2BikINPK51OpLPtr3pJETgz45YLPNo4NkN6ngb8B0WojloLAUyYXcA6Ry8uOIKf2xKoAMVTkMJ1Y1kjZBu-2F0XWULxwbqqkd6qrXCpI7f4bJ4Ldb5MwiF-2FCJ9V-2BEEJwtXNg5tIuuElUs-3D)
8 rappels - 20’ to 80’
I’ve done it 9-10 times so far and I just Love it!
* Per the last reports - Canyon is Bone Dry
- 12:00-15:00 Lunch + Optional:
- Set up Top-ropes or Lead and enjoy more climbing
- Canyoneering workshop - Let's practice some fun stuff
15:00-16:00 - Pack and head back home

Important:
* Plan so you can be there just before 11am on Saturday and not keep others waiting.
* Last time we were able to get all the way in with a Sedan and a Minivan.
If conditions haven’t changed - Most cars should do it. But don’t count on it for sure.

Camping:
The Great Falls Basin area and parking lot are on BLM land and Camping is FREE.
However, while there are a few Campfire rings, there is NOTHING else. This is Primitive camping with no Campsites, Restrooms, Picnic tables, etc.
* Bring EVERYTHING you may need!
