Clojure: Under the Hood

Despite providing arguably the cleanest and most abstract layer on top of the JVM, Clojure is by necessity still sometimes a leaky abstraction around the edges. Certain behavior can be inexplicable without understanding how your Clojure code turns into executed bytecode. Work on a professional-grade Clojure project long enough solving problems of any significant complexity, and you'll probably encounter situations like this.

Erik Seppanen will provide an overview of everything that happens between Clojure the language and the JVM. This information isn't really available in any one place that we know of, so here's a good chance not only to arm yourself with knowledge to write the most efficient Clojure code, but also to expand one's environmental understanding and maybe dip a quivering toe into the deep end of the pool.
