In the Main Gallery this solo exhibition, "Strangescapes" presents imaginary worlds painted by artist David Acevedo, each piece telling stories of personal experiences and memories.

David Acevedo is a Puerto Rican-born visual artist based in Fort Myers, Florida, known for his vibrant, intuitive mixed-media works that explore themes of identity, memory, and connection to nature. A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, he has been a driving force in Southwest Florida’s art scene since moving there in 2000. Acevedo is the founder of DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery, co-founder of Fort Myers Art Walk, and a leader in multiple community art initiatives. His work, which blends elements of abstract expressionism and pop art, often features layered textures and symbolic imagery. In addition to his studio practice, he has created large-scale public artworks like The Living Lands mural and has exhibited locally and internationally, earning numerous awards for his creative and cultural contributions.
