This group is a safe space to make friends. If you want to talk to people, please come to events, do not direct message them. Any inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Please ensure you join the group before attending. Events are for members only!!!
We gather to enjoy conversations over food, watch movies or theatre productions. We explore the arts and entertainment scene. Connect with fellow members who enjoy the same.

Cafe meet up
NEW LOCATION FOR Oranjezicht City Farm Market, Haul Road, Granger Bay Blvd, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town, 8001, Cape Town, ZALet's meet for coffee and, if we feel like it, lunch as well. The Oranjezicht City Farm Market has just moved to this purpose built new location, and this will be the opening day. I'm excited to see the new surroundings.
I will get there around 10ish to find a table and get us set up, so feel free to arrive a bit earlier if you like. I will have a red snorkel on the table for purposes of identification. I'm also going to set up a WhatsApp group, so if you are comfortable with that, please DM me your contact number on here. I can message people privately if they don't want to be in a group. It's just because MeetUp delay send messages sometimes and I don't want anyone to be stranded.
Please note the new address location (it's close to the old one) Haul Road, Granger Bay Blvd, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town, 8001
I look forward to seeing you soon.

Conscious Dance
Claremont Civic Center, 7708, 231 Main Rd, Claremont, Cape Town, 7708, Cape Town, ZAI decided the Dance Awake website did a better job of describing this than I would: "Embark on a journey of self-discovery through conscious dance. A mindful movement practice for awakening to one's true nature and full potential."
It's super fun dancing in a room with other people; it's just about the only cardio that I find fun, and there's a difference knowing everyone is sober and intentional, rather than intoxicated dancing in a club. I have gone to these events all over the world (Ecstatic Dance), and Brian (the DJ) has a real talent for putting together these sets with a mix of music that goes from slow to fast and back again, like a wave.
I know it can be intimidating going for the first time, so I'm happy to meet with people outside before we start. Just remember, most people there are thinking about their own moves. Anything goes, so if you want to sit and meditate rather than dance - or sway, or lean on the wall - it's whatever works for you. The dance is nonverbal, though, so people leave the room if they need to chat.
If you can't make it for this week, - I'm there every Thursday, so feel free to reach out if you would like to connect before a different class.4 attendees
