What we’re about

A shadow work class (especially from a psychological or spiritual perspective) is typically designed to help you explore your unconscious patterns, emotional wounds, and suppressed traits. Here's what you can usually expect:

  1. Safe and Supportive Environment
    • The class is led by a facilitator trained in psychology, coaching, or spirituality.
    • Emphasis on confidentiality, non-judgment, and emotional safety.
  2. Self-Reflection Tools
    • Journaling prompts to uncover hidden emotions and beliefs.
    • E.g., “What triggers me most, and why?”
    • Guided meditations or visualizations to access the subconscious.
    • Mirror work or exercises to confront the self compassionately.
  3. Psychological Frameworks
    • Introduction to Carl Jung’s shadow theory.
    • Discussion of ego, projection, repression, and inner child wounds.
    • Some classes may also incorporate elements of IFS (Internal Family Systems) or somatic awareness.
  4. Emotional Processing
    • Encouragement to sit with uncomfortable feelings (anger, shame, grief).
    • Techniques for inner dialogue with disowned parts of the self.
    • Group sharing (optional, but often powerful).
  5. Integration Practices
    • Strategies to integrate your shadow rather than “eliminate” it.
    • Reframing your flaws as hidden strengths or protectors.
    • Action steps to live with more authenticity and self-acceptance.
  6. Possible Reactions
    • Emotional discomfort, resistance, or even release (tears, anger).
    • Increased self-awareness and clarity.
    • A deeper sense of wholeness over time.
Would you like help preparing for a shadow work class or some journal prompts to get started?
