Flow
“a state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience is so enjoyable that people will continue to do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it”
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi

The "Flow" referred to here, is the concept in positive psychology that was coined by the Hungarian-American psychologist, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, in 1975. He became famous when he wrote a book about it in 1990. I read this book some years ago and it made an impact on me and led me to dig deeper on the subject.

> Psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's investigations of "optimal experience" have revealed that what makes an experience genuinely satisfying is a state of consciousness called flow. During flow, people typically experience deep enjoyment, creativity, and a total involvement with life. Csikszentmihalyi demonstrates the ways this positive state can be controlled, not just left to chance. Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience teaches how, by ordering the information that enters our consciousness, we can discover true happiness, unlock our potential, and greatly improve the quality of our lives. - Goodreads book review

I will share what I have discovered and how I use the concept, applying it in my work as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach.

I will cover what Flow is, how it works, what I have seen about how it links to neuroscience and how we can use the concept of Flow in our work with teams and individuals. I am hoping that the session will spark questions and discussions from the attendees.
