Ransomware, Security and Cybercrime let's share our stories

Details
Dear Dev Community,
Spring is finally here, and once again we can enjoy good weather and in-person meetups. I'm excited to share with you the following upcoming event.
The security focused event will take place on the 26th of September from 6 PM till 9 PM at the Collingwood studio in Observatory, Cape Town.
We will be hosting short 15-minute lightning talks covering Security, Ransomware, and how Developers can help businesses make a difference.
The first speaker will be Dr. Dieter van der Westhuizen, who specialises in Chemical Pathology and is currently working at the Groote Schuur Hospital.
As you may know, the National Health Laboratory Services' IT systems were recently compromised and encrypted. All blood analysis across the country was affected and had serious implications for staff and patients.
Dieter played a key role in developing innovative solutions to get the affected systems up and running.
Dieter will tell us a story of what happened, how it affected the patients and doctors, and how he used his coding skills to help staff find alternative solutions for performing blood analysis while waiting for the systems to be restored.
Please join us and share your stories with us.
We are still looking for more speakers who can share their experiences of being affected by cybercrime or anyone who can share knowledge on how we can build software that is more secure and resilient to cybercriminals.
