Peebles Island Park DOGS and humans perimeter trail romp after work

Details
I am trying to get this walk on the calendar on a regular basis so that members can see each other more often and also have a lovely place to hike. Peebles Island is a 191 acre state park that sits in the middle of the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers. Dependant on the foot traffic, there are plentiful deer and other wildlife there and trails that crisscross the area for varied appeal.
Meet in WATERFORD so that we have ample parking and also to avoid the $6 parking fee for those that need to know for the future.
Paths are not paved, may be slippery at certain spots, but overall, sturdy shoes or even sneakers will suffice. Bring water and possible bug spray dependant on your own needs. Paths sometimes have steep drop-offs and clifflike areas that owners with loose dogs need to be aware of.
As usual, please be prepared to remove or bury your dogs waste to keep the terrain pleasant for all users. This park does not have bags provided everywhere, so you must bring your own.
Note: All our group hiking is at your own risk and all participants are expected to be responsible for thier personal safety, thier dog and the safety or others we encounter. All participants must use their own judgement as to when and if to let thier dogs "off-leash."
The group is a happy one and the dogs have a good time too! Meet new friends and find others to hike with, that are dog friendly!
Anyone interested in becoming an organizer needs to contact Greg or I to get easily set up to schedule hikes. You can just put on hikes YOU want to do in the hopes of finding new friends in those places you like to go...or you can set hikes for others enjoyment farther out of your own territory. We also would like to find avid "elevation seekers" who could schedule hikes for others interested in summiting all the glorious mountains in our region.
