Bird-window collisions are one of the largest causes of bird deaths in the world. This presentation covers the reasons why this devastation occurs and some ways it can be prevented, especially by homeowners.
CDHS member Carol Quantock is a local environmental advocate. She has been an active birder for over 40 years, and is the vice president of the Audubon Society of the Capital Region as well as editor of the ASCR newsletter, Wingbeats. Her fascination for birds evolved from extensive real-time experience observing nature at an early age, then by gardening and becoming a Cornell Cooperative Extension (Saratoga County) Master Gardener in May of 2021.

This will be a live, in person presentation.

Ms. Quantock has a BA degree in geography and urban/regional planning from SUNY Albany, and a Graduate Management Certificate from Cornell University NYS School of Industrial and Labor Relations. She is a retired executive assistant/contract administrator and is an active volunteer for the "Green Team" gardeners in Saratoga County, CDHS, Audubon Society, and other nonprofit organizations.

This program begins at 1:00 PM, both in-person and via Zoom. The in-person event will be held at Pinnacle Living, 45 Forts Ferry Road, Latham, NY. It is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available starting at 12:30 PM. Please bring your own beverage.

If you wish to attend via Zoom and are not a current member of CDHS, email your request to [CDHS.Albany@gmail.com](mailto:CDHS.Albany@gmail.com) no later than Friday, November 7th.
