Come join us at Siena College for this exciting public lecture by celebrated philosophy Dr. Miranda Fricker (NYU), whose visit is part of Siena's Distinguished Philosopher Symposium. Dr. Fricker is known for her pioneering work on epistemic injustice — the special kind of injustice suffered by people as members in the information economy. All of us, as social beings, want to be able to give and receive information. But not all people have fair access to this information economy. Sometimes, for instance, a person’s testimony or advice is given less weight because of their race or their gender. But this is just one example of epistemic injustice - Dr. Fricker will expand on this timely and fascinating topic in her talk. All are welcome at this public lecture in the Maloney Great Room of Siena College's Sarazen Student Union. Please contact Michael Rings if you would like a visitor's pass to park on campus, or if you have any questions!
