Wing Chun in the Park!
Details
Sunday has a 55% chance of rain; in the event the weather makes an impact, we'll either cancel or go elsewhere.
UPDATE: the 23rd has been updated to a 77% chance of rain, so the class has been moved to the 22nd in an attempt to avoid that.
MATERIAL COVERED
This is a beginner level, cooperative class. there is no sparring, fighting, or aggressive contact in this class.
The curriculum, until a regular class develops, will be the same. Kung fu is all about repetition, wing tsun doubly so.
I will cover the following topics:
What is wing tsun
Wing tsun structure
How is wing tsun applied
Siu nim tau- sections 1-2
The 4 gates
Pak sau drills - indoor/outdoor, front and back
Pak dar drills introduction
Tan dar drills introduction
Dan chi sau
Poon sau
Chi sau section 1 movement 1
This material normally takes me about an hour and a half to cover with complete beginners. Depending on the size of the class and the level of people, we may or may not complete all of it based on time constraints.
The material will be presented in this order to allow for familiarity to develop.
The goal is either to a) familiarize people with what wing tsun can do if they are curious or
b) develop these crucial skills to be able to move into using these with other techniques in combination after repeated classes.
