The Tech Valley Game Space (TVGS) had a monthly social/game night at the Center of Gravity. It's now a weekly virtual event. For the current schedule, see their main page at https://www.meetup.com/TechValleyGameSpace
The Albany Area Chess Club meets Wednesday evenings near Albany Airport at the Shelley Studio of Bridge and Games. Most nights there are 10-20 players from beginner to Expert. New players are extremely welcome. (Note: This is not officially a Meetup event. You can just drop in, or if you reply “going”, someone will reach out to you.)
