Mixed Reality event in Harwich
Details
We’re excited to share that this Friday, internationally renowned media artist and experience designer Skye Von will be joining us here in Harwich with her mixed reality exhibition Embrace, an immersive event blending art, technology, and community.
The event is FREE and ACCESSIBLE to all, designed to be inclusive and participatory — you don’t need any technical background to enjoy it!
Embrace is a multiplayer mixed-reality installation where players help save a fading world through connection. Wearing untethered AR headsets, participants move freely through a shared space, embracing virtual humans, fantastical creatures, and one another. Each hug restores colour and life to the envi- ronment, turning the experience into a shared celebration of presence, consent, and joyful connection. Headset experience is for ages 10 and above, while everyone is welcome to watch the experience and enjoy the installation.
Just drop by anytime between 11am and 5pm to experience the exhibition, explore the installation, or simply learn more about the exciting world of media arts.
This event marks the introduction of our new initiative — the Immersive Media Port in Harwich, a digital art and research lab being developed right here in town by capitArtX, a London-based global curatorial and media arts organisation.
