Every year Toodyay host a festival that returns the town to the Victorian times to celebrate their own bushranger, Moondyne Joe. He is remembered in a light hearted manner as they re-enact various moments in Moondyne Joe's story including various jail escapes where he is seen running through the town and mock trials. It's a lively all day festival with bands, musicians, morris dancers and people wandering around in Victorian costume.
We will photograph the event and capture the essence of the day, telling the story of the day with some strong images.
Toodyay is about an hours drive east of perth but you can get there by train on the Prospector train which can be caught from East Perth or Midland station.
This session is suitable to any level of photographer and camera although a telephoto lens will be an advantage.
We will explore ways of focusing on the main aspects of the festival and blurring as much of the 21st century out as possible.
A minimum of 3 people are needed for this event.
This small group session is lead by Anna-Mair, a formally trained professional photographer with many years experience of teaching people from beginners to advance to become better photographers. We welcome all cameras. Our meetups start with a brief of how to set the camera for the topic. They are fun and informative with likeminded people and the professional photographer on hand to assist throughout the session.
Anna-Mair Francis is a professional fine art photographer having held several successful exhibitions which were held in high regard with many positive reviews. She has images displayed all over the world. She is a very successful teacher having had many of her former pupils going on to achieve awards and be highly respected photographers in there own right. She is highly regarded by the people she has taught and the methods she uses to teach them photography. She is very patient and understanding and works on the philosophy that there is no such thing as a silly question.
