The Cardano Solution is hosting its regular Cardano South Florida Meetup community event. We organized this event in collaboration with ADAO and Urbit.

1st Presentation
Adam Rusch and Thomas DiMatteo of ADAO
ADAO was established in November 2021 as the first Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) on the Cardano Blockchain with a smart contract treasury and minting of governance tokens. Founding Core Contributors Adam Rusch and Tom DiMatteo will join the Meetup to discuss creating DAO structures, organizing member groups, the process of building consensus, and their new project, the Summon Platform.

Speakers
Adam Rusch is specialized faculty in Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a research interest in DAOs and decentralized communities.

Thomas DiMatteo has six years of experience in decentralized finance and DAO governance as a researcher and practitioner.

2nd Presentation
N. E. Davis and ~ripnyt-ripnyt of Urbit
Urbit is a new OS and peer-to-peer network that’s simple by design, built to last forever, and 100% owned by its users. As a software stack and identity system, Urbit allows users to run their nodes (an urbit) or cooperatively connect to other nodes with their Urbit ID.

Speakers:
N. E. Davis writes about the post-institutional organization and the philosophy of technology and science. He tweets @sigilante and is on Urbit at ~lagrev-nocfep, works on developer experience for the Urbit Foundation, and is on the faculty of Computer Science at the University of Illinois.

~ripnyt-ripnyt is a small business manager who follows his curiosity about new technologies. He’s spent time in the Cardano and Ergo communities but now finds himself learning about Urbit more than anything else.
