Holiday Card Prep & Packing!
Overview
Feel-good holiday service: pack cards for seniors with a friendly, all-ages crew—great for families and volunteers seeking a meaningful impact.
Details
Time to get all those holiday cards ready for our seniors!
Y'all stepped up to make cards for our local seniors...
now it's time to pack them up and get them ready to deliver to facilities in the Austin area!
Join us for a community prep and packaging session, when we'll need all hands on deck to help count cards, stuff envelopes, and organize cards according to facility requests.
We'll bring the holiday music and snacks to keep us all in good spirits. You bring your hands, your crew, and your readiness to give back to your community this holiday season.
This is a family-friendly event. All ages are welcome to join and lend a helping hand.
Where's the packing session?
We'll be in Classroom #1 at Asian American Resource Center. The classroom is located at the end of the hall after you walk past the reception area. Look for signs, or ask a team member at the front desk to guide you.
Parking at the Venue:
Asian American Resource Center has free parking (including ADA and fuel efficient spaces) onsite in their lot at 8401 Cameron Rd and next door at the City of Austin 1520 Rutherford Lane building.
Who will receive the cards?
We collect cards year-round to distribute to seniors living in long-term card facilities in Central Texas. Facilities reach out to us to request cards for the residents, and we mail them or recruit volunteers to hand deliver them.
We have several requests for holiday cards from nursing homes in the Austin area, and we'll be using this packing session to organize and pack the cards so they're ready to be delivered the week of December 15th!
