This event is the official hands-on follow-up to our "Unlock the Hidden Job Market" webinar. While we are building on the strategies discussed there, everyone is welcome to attend regardless of whether you caught the webinar or are joining us for the first time.
From Theory to Action
In the webinar, we talked about why networking matters. Here, we actually do the work. Join us for a high-energy, structured virtual event where you will master the two most important skills for accessing the hidden job market: The Elevator Pitch and The Informational Interview.
The Flow:
- 6:00 PM to 6:15 PM: Welcome and Quick "Pitch 101" Refresh.
- 6:16 PM to 6:45 PM: In small breakout groups, give your elevator pitch and step into the shoes of an interviewer. Practice asking the right questions in a mock 1:1 informational interview. Switch and repeat.
- 6:45 PM to 7:00 PM: Group reflection and LinkedIn profile exchange.
What You Need to Bring:
- A Draft Pitch: Do not worry if it is not perfect because that is why we are here.
- Some clarity: What specific industry and company are you targeting for your next role?
- 2-3 Questions: Have two or three questions ready to ask someone about them and their career path. We will also provide you with sample questions.
- Camera On: This is a face-to-face networking event. Please be ready to engage with your video on.
- Your LinkedIn URL: Have it ready to drop in the chat to stay connected (not mandatory).
