• April Fools Perry County Covered Bridge Run (No Foolin'!)

    Turkey Hill Minit Market

We will form up at the Turkey Hill at 209 W King St in Shippensburg at 8:45 with a 9:00 departure. The Turkey Hill is a couple of minutes away from The Wheelhouse Cafe if you'd like to join us for one of the best breakfasts around before we set out. I don't recommend eating anything too heavy since we will hit the first half of the Dramamine before heading to our first bridge (road surface pretty rough in sections and lots of road sand from Upper Strasburg to Fannetsburg). We will visit three bridges before a pit stop in Blain and then five more bridges before stopping at The Local Table in Loysville for a bite to eat. After lunch we will tour five more bridges before ending the day at Susquehanna Soft Serve in Liverpool. Most bridges we can drive right through, a couple we will have to turn around and drive back through, a couple we can only drive by, and one, Clay's Covered Bridge in Little Buffalo State Park will be a 500 ft stroll to see. That will also be our afternoon pit stop. Rain date April 15.

    Virginia International Raceway

For years a small (MINI) contingent of Carlisle MINI has motored to great racetracks on the east coast. We have been following the new generation of MINIs starting with the R53 that was campaigned by Randy Smalley's team RSR racing. Steve Dellinger traveled with this team for years serving as a crew member. Fast forward to the newer generation MINI and enter Luis Perocarpi and his LAP Motorsports Racing team. Are you ready for an EPIC Mini road trip? Start planning now for a week long Carlisle Mini extravaganza.
On Monday, July 31, 2023 the adventure starts, meeting in Carlisle and then cruising the roads less traveled to exciting Cleveland, Ohio. Why, you might think? So Tuesday we can tour the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Wednesday morning we will drive to Detroit Michigan and then spend the afternoon on the incredible Ford Rouge Factory Tour. We will spend all day Thursday at the Henry Ford Museum of Innovation, well, as much as we can see in one day! Friday will be a scenic drive through the Michigan countryside to Mackinaw City/St Ignace to check in for Mini on the Mack 2023. Saturday is the big event and the associated festivities.
Several options from here - an easy two day drive back home to PA on the interstate (750 miles, +/- 12 hrs), a longer two day drive avoiding highways (780 miles, +/- 17 hrs) or an easy three day drive on the Trans Canada Highway and upstate NY (950 miles, +/- 19 hours), (you will need a passport).
