WINTERGREEN FALLS LOOP HIKE

Wintergreen Falls Loop - About 7 miles/600' elevation gain

Come on out and meetup at the Guion Farm Parking Lot off Sky Valley Road at 9:15 a.m. We leave promptly at 9:30 a.m. The map will bring you here.

I love dogs, but none on this hike please

You might consider at least one hiking pole as there is one minor stream crossing and a pole might be helpful. It was for me. We will hike about 2 - 2.3 miles/hour. We stop for regular water breaks and about 3/4 of the way at the falls for snacks/lunch.

This hike will be cancelled by 6:30 a.m. the morning of the hike if there's inclement weather.

The trail: From the parking lot we will start on Tarkiln Trail and turn left onto Shoal Creek Trail to Ruffed Grouse Trail. We will turn right onto Buck Forest Road and then left onto Thomas Cemetery Road where I can show you the historical family cemetery should there be interest. From there we will follow Tarkiln Branch to the Wintergreen Falls Trail where we will have our 20-30 minute break. Then, back onto Tarkiln Branch and return to the parking lot.
