Pisgah "Leisure" hike
Details
We'll hike from the Pisgah Ranger Station along the Black Mountain Connector Trail over to Thrift Cove, Grassy Road, and Sycamore Cove Trails. The first mile or so is a gradual, but steady uphill (we'll take it slow with breaks as necessary) with some nice forest views through the valley. The trail flattens out once we get back in the cove and from there is almost all a gentle downhill (or flat) back to the beginning. There were some bikes on the trails, so we'll want to keep our eyes and ears open for them. If you're looking for a mountain summit or rushing waterfall, this hike might not be for you. But if you'd like a truly pleasant "leisure" hike through the woods, please consider joining us! (I scouted this hike and measured 3.0 miles and 534' of elevation gain).
