Den Haag to Kinderdijk

Details

Kinderdijk is an UNESCO world heritage, famous for its windmills (19).
Distance: 40 kms to Kinderdijk. It's a one way: after Kinderdijk we cycle 10 more kms to get to metro station Sliedrecht. From there we go back to Rotterdam and then Den Haag. I suggest to transfer from Rotterdam to Den Haag by metro too: then you don't need a bike ticket. You will need an OV-card.

Stop for lunch in Rotterdam, around 12.30 PM (or bring your own lunch). Last year we stopped at De Tuin, Plaszoom. If you are staying in Rotterdam, or close by, you could join us there. Suggestions for other nice lunch stops (not in the heart of the city) are welcome.
Besides that it's always wise to bring a drink and a snack.

At Kinderdijk you can buy a ticket (entrance of two different types of windmills, boat trip, entrance of old pumping station, ...) or go around for free. The ticket is not cheap: € 16. We will stay here for about one and a half hour.

We start at Hollands Spoor, next to the bike shop and the bike underpassing. Please note: NOT main entrance. Get out at city side and turn left. See map.

You need a comfortable, well kept and light traveling bike. We will be going at a regular speed. About 15 kms/h
The weather should be perfect (10 out of 10 in the weather forecast.)
End time is an estimate.

CU all!
