Inspired by the movie 'The New Wilderness', last year I organized an amazing excursion through the impressive Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve for lovers of nature and animals: reeds, water, swamp, rough grass plains, konik horses, deers, and lots of birds...

Next level is to visit the neighbouring island Marker Wadden! The ferry will take us to the island in -+ 45 minutes. The boat trip is also an amazing experience. Once on Marker Wadden, the adventure continues. We will spend 2,5 hours here. Seize this opportunity and discover this newest piece of the Netherlands with a delightful walk, observing the birds.

Gathering @ restaurant restaurant De Rede Eterij & Drinkerij in Bataviahaven (harbour) in Lelystad, where the boat departs (just 10 minutes by bus from train station NS Lelystad centrum).

The new wilderness Oostvaardersplassen
This area, part of in National Park New Land in Flevoland, is a water-rich delta area with a lot of raw wilderness. This nature reserve is an introduction to the Netherlands of thousands of years ago as untouched swamp area, with vast lakes and wild grasslands. Nature is allowed to take its course here, which is very unique in whole Europe!

Boat trip excursion Marker Wadden
Marker Wadden, part of the New Land National Park, is a unique project contributing to the restoration of nature in the Markermeer lake by creating islands of sand, clay and sludge from the bottom of the Markermeer lake. It is the newest part of the Netherlands and a bird paradise.
We will have a beautiful walk here past three new bird lookouts, an impressive watchtower and the harbour beach and North beach. It is still an enormously vast, empty landscape where the nature is still developing and masses of birds are roosting.
The ship has sufficient space both indoors and outdoors to provide a seat for each passenger.

Come, join this excursion and discover this paradise!
