Hi, I'm Francesca.
In this Meetup group I wish to give online FREE COOKING LESSONS on how to make simple and quick Italian food, with the best ingredients you can find in your preferred grocery store.
I was born and raised in Italy but spent most of my adult life between South Africa and the US ( I now live in NC ).
As an Italian, I was raised going to local markets with my Grandmother, where we would choose the fresh vegetables to use for our “Italian style” Sunday lunches. I would spend my weekends watching her rolling the pasta dough and making ravioli with her own hands. Modena, my home town, is located in the heart of a region called Emilia Romagna. This area is consider the Mecca of Italian food. Emilia Romagna is famous for foods such as Prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano Reggiano, Balsamic Vinegar, Lasagne, Ravioli and so much more. Living in Modena and being taught how to cook by my Grandmother gave me the advantage of understanding how to combine flavors and different ingredients to create simple, delicious Italian dishes.
In Cape Town, where I lived for more than 10 years, I was a tour operator & tour guide, taking tourists on Safari to Southern Africa game reserves. Now that I am back in the US I have decided to create a tour operator business to offer tours of Italy where I will be personally present every step of the way.
In my tours I want to combine my passion for food with my love for traveling and share it with you.
