Talk 1: Wagered AI vs AI chess platform built on the Blockchain.
Description: Blockchain development is difficult. Having no traditional OS with massive scalability issues limits the complexity of applications that can be built and deployed on any blockchain. Cartesi changes that by providing a traditional Linux operating system coupled with a blockchain infrastructure allowing unlimited scalability with the development tools developers are accustomed to. This talk will introduce an application that is taking advantage of this product.
Ultrachess is a python-based chess platform that allows its users to battle humans or deploy chess engines to the blockchain to compete in wagered matches on their behalf. Chess engines ( via bytecode and other dependencies) are uploaded to our platform as NFTs, and their ownership can be transferred, fractionalized, and traded between different users as a result. All matches and events that happen within the platform can be wagered upon with real-world assets. Chess AIs also persist in a completely autonomous manner. Meaning that they can challenge opponents and win battles for their owners as they sleep.

Main point: Ultrachess is a digital world with rules and implications that persist infinitely in parallel to our own. Where actors (man or machine) prove their worth by engaging in chess battles to absorb the wealth of their opponent.

Bio: Jesse is a traditional software engineer with an interest in branching out into the blockchain space. After learning about how Cartesi provides a highly performant on-chain linux based execution environment, he jumped in head first to developing Ultrachess. Jesse has competed in various hackathons winning 1st at HackBoston and 2nd at ETH San Francisco. Do you think you can beat him at his own game?
