What we’re about
Purpose:
A community where those concerned about environmental and social justice issues can share their ideas and collaborate to make real change happen in our local area.
Who Should Join:
Anyone interested in learning more about environmental and social justice issues, or who may already be actively working on them. Possible topics include but are not limited to:
Confined Animal Feeding Operations in Eastern NC (aka CAFOs)
Mountain Valley Pipeline
NCUC Carbon Plan
Public Transit Improvements, especially Buses
Walking/Bike Infrastructure Improvements
Climate Solutions
Community Disaster Resilience
Technology
Community Gardening
What Will We Do At Events?
Discuss ideas about changes we'd like to see in our local areas, support and validate one another, collaborate to make progress on those ideas. We might share and discuss books, watch documentaries, volunteer, work to educate or attend protests together.
