Lewis Wickes Hine (Sept 26, 1874 - Nov 3, 1940)
was an American sociologist and muckracker photographer. His photographs taken during the Progressive Era and Great Depression captured the result of young children working in harsh conditions, played a role in bringing about the passage of the first child labor laws in the United States.
Barbara Morgan (July 8, 1900 - Aug 17, 1992)
was an American photographer best known for her depictions of modern dancers. She was a co-founder of the photography magazine
Aperture. Morgan is known in the visual art and dance worlds for penetrating studies of American modern dancers. Morgan's drawings, prints, watercolors and paintings were exhibited widely in California (1920s) and in New York, Philadelphia(1930s).
