Creating a Visual Language is necessary for every photographer who wishes to get past using their camera as a copy machine. Learning a spoken language progresses by making sounds, syllables, words, phrases, and sentences. Once we have perfected these skills, we can begin to communicate our thoughts, tell stories, and entertain our audience. Photography follows an analogous path but with visual skills.
