Hello everyone!
Now that the weather is finally warming up, my walking schedule has been at the mercy of King Leo (my Royal Golden Retriever—no relation to King Julien!). He is beyond excited for Spring, and as his loyal subject, I’ve been answering his commands for frequent walks. However, Leo is beginning to understand that a little discipline is necessary, so I am getting back to a more consistent schedule for our group walks soon!
In addition to getting outside, I am focusing on Yoga and Meditation. While these practices originated in India, they have truly taken the world by storm because their benefits are phenomenal—especially for finding inner peace and improving how we interact with others. It is a universal practice for everyone; in fact, even Saudi Arabia now actively promotes yoga and meditation. Saudi Arabia has undergone a significant shift and now actively promotes yoga and meditation as part of its "Vision 2030" plan to improve the quality of life and health for its citizens.
Much like our wonderful public libraries, there are incredible resources available that often go underutilized. One such gem is the instructor-led program hosted by Prairie Yoga in partnership with NAMI DuPage.
I would love for you to join me for these sessions.
In the evening, there would be meditation session following yoga. Both of these sessions will help you rebalance and refocus, while providing stretching and relaxation methods that will help you reduce stress.
Materials (mats, blocks, etc.) are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
