Argentine Tango Beginner Session at University of Alberta

Join us for a magical introduction to the world’s most passionate and elegant dance—Argentine Tango! This beginner-friendly series focuses on the fundamentals of social tango in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment. No experience or partner needed—just come ready to move, connect, and explore! You’ll learn key elements like posture, balance, embrace, walking, leading/following, musicality, and more. We'll also introduce tango etiquette and traditions to enrich your experience. This class is perfect for beginners. With our teaching method, you will learn to improvise from the very beginning. Come dance, connect, and start your tango journey with us!

👉 COURSE DETAILS:

No Partner Needed. We rotate partners throughout the class and many people come alone.
No Experience Necessary. The course is designed for those new to dancing, or at least those new to tango. Most new students have no previous experience.
Bring Change of Shoes. Please bring a second pair of shoes to preserve the dance floor. Leather soles are preferred, if possible.
Wear Relaxed Clothing. This is not a formal event, so wear comfortable clothes, appropriate to dancing or movement.
