Details

NEW: We'll be meeting at 8:00am near Gate 80 at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The first thing you should do when you get there is go to the ticket selling booth (which is close to Gate 80) and buy your roundtrip ticket to Atlantic City. The bus is called the Lucky Streak. Be sure to specify that you want a roundtrip ticket from the Port Authority to Atlantic City. The ticket will cost $31.

After buying your ticket, look out for me, David Greene. I am 6'5" and will be wearing a green baseball cap with the word "Nathan's" on the front in big yellow letters. I am very easy to spot. So please go ahead and buy your ticket and then look for me. We'll all be lining up for the 9:00am bus, near Gate 80. The bus will leave from Gate 80 at 9:00am.

We are hitting Borgata and the Boardwalk, Baby!

This will be a big, fun event, and it is being co-sponsored by the 1,100-member New York Adventures Meetup. 27 members of that group have already RSVP'd yes, and we are going to have a fantastic group of people attending this event.

We'll be walking on the Boardwalk and breathing in the ocean air, gambling, eating at buffets, gambling, watching free lounge shows, gambling, and hanging out in the spectacular, new Borgata Casino Hotel. And gambling.

I've been to Atlantic City about 60 times, so I know my way around. And I'll tell you, these are the best days ever for an Atlantic City casino trip! AC has got a magnificent new casino hotel, the Borgata, with stunning architecture, a hot Vegas vibe, and Borgata Babes (who are so beautiful they've got their own calendar).

There's a great new mall attached to the Tropicana, called The Quarter. It's got tons of terrific, new restaurants, bars and nightclubs, as well as shopping.

There's a beautiful new shopping, restaurant and nightclub pier just completed last summer -- The Pier at Caesars. Built by Caesars and extending 900 feet out into the Atlantic Ocean (with a street address of "One Atlantic Ocean"), it's a fantastic place to eat, party and shop. The top level is all upscale restaurants and nightclubs, and has a stunning view of the beach, the ocean and the rest of the casino hotels all lit up at night. And at the end of the pier, every hour on the hour, they've got a spectacular light, music and water show -- that's free.

There's also a great new pedestrian mall in the middle of the city called "The Walk". The Walk specializes in designer outlet stores, and I've gotten lots of great clothes there at bargain prices.

Besides all this, one of my favorite things to do is walk from casino to casino and catch the free lounge acts. I love casino lounge singers and performers, and it's fun to hang out in these swanky lounges.

We'll be taking a Greyhound bus together from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. We'll catch the 9:00am bus to Bally's at Gate 80. Tickets are $31 roundtrip, and you usually get back $20 in cash (so the roundtrip ticket ends up costing only $11). Anybody who wants to go by car is welcome to take their car of course.

The great thing about going by Greyhound from the Port Authority is that you can catch Greyhound buses going back from Atlantic City to the Port Authority 24 hours a day. That means that you are not locked in to returning at 6:00pm as you are if you take a local "bodega" bus. I'll be suggesting a 1:00am return time for those of us who want to stay all day and into the night. But feel free to leave earlier or later, it's all up to you! That is the convenience and flexibility of travelling roundtrip from the Port Authority.

Those who wish to travel by car may do so of course. Email me and we'll make arrangements to meet in Atlantic City.
