PASSAGE Group - Palatine (any ages)

TIME: 7:00-9:00 pm

WHAT: PASSAGE: Planning Asperger Syndrome Success And Generating Experiences
Our Mission: To help our teens and young adults with Asperger Syndrome and Non-Verbal Learning Disability, to successfully transition to the adult world and find the success they desire and deserve.

A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION: Group is open to parents, professionals, and those on the spectrum. While the group is focused towards teens and young adults, others who are dealing with issues this group focuses on are welcome to attend as well.

Group begins with the speakers introducing themselves. After that, group splits: teens/young adults in one group... parents, professionals, etc in the other group. (Other adults on the spectrum seem to be welcome in either group... or can "float" between both, depending on what is most comfortable.)
The speaker presents to the teen/young adult group first. Then, that group plays a game and/or does a social skills activity.
In the other group, there is an open discussion. Then, the speaker comes and talks to this group. There is also plenty of time for questions to be asked.
