Hello everyone, I'm excited to announce our next meetup. We are going to try a more traditional pizza plus talks format this time.
Several people indicated when they signed up that they are interested in Cassandra but are not sure if it fits their problems. I will be giving a brief introduction to Cassandra with an emphasis on the cases where (I think) you ought to consider using it. On the other side of the spectrum one of the cool things about Cassandra is its expanding integration with other parts of the Apache analytics ecosystem. Matt Kennedy will be talking about using Pig (a high-level language for expressing and evaluating data analysis programs) with Cassandra, and if time permits some of the possibilities opened up by CassandraFS and Brisk.
