Sauvignon Blanc - hooraaa-nnc!

Details
Go ahead, take a sip... Now, wait a minute... Don't you feel your mouth watering? That sharp tingle across every inch of your tongue? Yeah, that's the acid. Mmmm, isn't it yummy?!?!?!?!?! Sauvignon Blanc is an amazing white for the summertime, it does for wine lovers what lemonade does for children. On a hot, sunny day there is absolutely nothing I like to drink more than this sassy, high-spirited varietal.
Don't shy away because this one is hard to pronounce! (Sah-vee-ohn Blahn) or Sauv Blanc for short, is what we're sippin and swirling this month here in Castle Rock Wine Club... We'll also learn some other fun and funky little flavors in wine that – like acid- are actually considered desirable. It's also time we learned about this whole “appellation business” and drinking Sauv Blanc is a great way to let it all soak in.
In the mid-'90s U.S. Imports of Australian, New Zealand, Chilean, and Argentinian Sauv Blanc dramatically increased. This brought fun labels, playful flavor profiles, and great values to American wine lovers. In fact, you can often buy a variety of these bottles for the price you'd pay for just one Californian Bottle. Though the prices are starting to climb, Chile and Argentina still have amazing bottles of this tasty white wine for under $10.
We will be traveling all around the world this month, trying wines from at least 3 area's in France, California, Australia, Chile, Argentina, and New Zealand.
For our tasty food we will be be dining on the following:
Some amazing dishes our wondrous hosts have prepared!
As always there is no cost to attend wine club, however if you would like to contribute to help this group grow, feel free to bring a bottle of Sauv Blanc, or feel free to make a tasty dish or dessert to share. Of course you're more than welcome to make a financial contribution at the tasting which helps me make bigger and better meetups for everyone! However, none of that is necessary! We just want you to come hang out with the best group in Colorado, make some new friends, and taste some great wine! See everyone soon!
