Big Sofa - Music at Emily Place

An open mic style event. We welcome covers and originals, English or otherwise, all instruments, styles, genres and musical ability. It is also a great opportunity to meet other amateur musicians to collaborate.

If you enjoy live music and want to come and listen, you are also very welcome.

So that we can get through all of the attendees in the session, we’ll start with one song per performer. If there is extra time at the end we can welcome additional songs. Collaborations only count towards one of the performer’s allocation, i.e a duo can perform two songs, *** although larger groups/bands please be sensible and mindful of not taking too many slots***. Each performance is allocated 5min max and that includes set up time. We ask that loopers perform towards the end of the event to ensure the smooth running of the day. Please ensure your instruments are tuned well before you are due to perform.

We are very fortunate to be supported by Aaiotanga Community Space, so please be respectful of the space to allow us to continue hosting events at this venue.

We may take photos on the day for promoting the event and venue on our Instagram page. Please let us know if you do not want your photo to be taken or used.
