About us
CAT group bike rides are geared toward nurturing new riders who are discovering the enjoyment of bicycling. We highlight local bike routes that serve fun and useful destinations like bakeries, coffee shops, local businesses, parks, etc., while utilizing the network of trails and streets.
We also offer special rides that promote biking to work and overnight touring such as bike camping trips/bikepacking.
CAT is an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit organization and here's our mission:
CAT–Coalition for Appropriate Transportation strengthens our Lehigh Valley community and our environment through bicycling, pedestrian accessibility, and public transportation.
CAT works to improve mobility for everyone. Better bicycling, walking/ADA accessibility, and public transit develop a stronger, smarter economy and a higher quality of life. Sustainable transportation reduces traffic congestion, counters climate change, and offers a healthier community for everyone.
CAT serves adults & children of Pennsylvania’s Lehigh & Northampton Counties.

Allentown Saturday Morning Bike Rides
Allentown Arts Park, Sixth and Linden Streets, Allentown, PA, USMeet at the Allentown Arts Park!
(gather at 9:15am, rollout at 9:30)CAT ride leaders will show you the way—a variety of fun routes to Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers’ Market, Cedar Beach, and Rose Garden. Rides are at a social pace with the emphasis on community and connecting Allentown on two wheels.
Rides will generally stop for a tasty, healthy treat somewhere. (bring a bike lock if you have one)

Nor-Bath Trail
Northampton Canal Park, 1400 Canal Street, Northampton, PA, USLet's ride at a social and comfortable pace,10mph.
Trails is shy of 12miles. Terrain is gravel. Trail is scenic.If you would like to get there early, there is a nice coffee shop called Taylor Roasted Coffeehouse. (1924 Main St, Northampton, PA 18067)
The Nor-Bath Trail follows the corridor of the Northampton and Bath Railroad, a short-line rail line that ran 8.5 miles between those towns for 77 years to serve the local cement industry’s connection to larger rail carriers. Heading west to east from the D&L trailhead, the Nor-Bath Trail passes through mostly open farmland, wooded areas, three recreational parks, and some residential areas before ending at the Keystone Cement Company quarry. Parts of the trail were resurfaced in 2020 and it is primarily shaded.

Easy Like Sunday Morning
Hanover Township Community Center, 3660 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem, PA, USJoin us for leisurely paced, low mileage rides geared towards new riders, and anyone looking to improve their group riding skills. We’ll focus on safety and socializing, not on covering a specific distance.
On May 31st, we’ll ride the quiet suburban streets and paved park paths of Hanover Twp for 20-30 minutes, take a break, and then another 20-30 minutes back to our starting point.
We’ll meet at Hanover Township Community Center Park at 3660 Jacksonville Rd, Bethlehem 18017.

Fountain Hill Magical History Tour🎶🚴🚴♂️🚴🚴♀️🚴🎶
CAT - Coalition for Appropriate Transportation, 33 W. Walnut St, Bethlehem, PA, USRoll up... Roll up for the much anticipated History Tour! Come join us May 31st, for a leisurely Sunday ride up and down the Hill.
This will be a Stop & Go ride, discussing the rich history of Bethlehem and particularly the Borough of Fountain Hill. We'll be taking in some of the architecture, historic landmarks, and beauteous scenery as we take a journey back in time.

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54792240There will be some 'walk the bike' at times, for instance climbing up to Dodson Street Park for some views of the cityscape and landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see.
Meet Up at CAT at 2:00 for the ABC Bike Checks and introductions and we'll be on our way.
The pace of this ride will be a very relaxed... easy like Sunday Morning.
This is a sharing ride, sharing history, stories and time together. Some of our riders will have their own personal stories to be shared along the way, having themselves either lived in or grown up on Fountain Hill.
Some members of the group currently reside on the Hill, but you know, Once a Hiller, Always a Hiller. We won't be putting many miles on the odometer, but there will be a Hill to climb. Ha! Pack a snack and water, and we'll make our way over to the Southside and up the Hill to begin meandering our way through the Borough, experiencing firsthand some of the reasons why Hillers are proud to declare,
"It's a thrill to live on the Hill"!
We'll make a stop at Lorenzo's Pizza for some refreshment and carbs before coasting our way back down to the Southside, over the river and home to CAT.
