CAC returns to Falls Run Park to see its several beautiful waterfalls, all frozen in icy splendor. The main hiking trail starts at a large parking lot, and winds through snowy woods, following a frozen stream and leading upward to several waterfalls that are the focal point of the park. One waterfall has a 25-foot drop that you can experience from ground level or from above, thanks to a staircase found along the side. There are several sturdy wooden bridges and staircases throughout the entire trail, making this hike very easy. The entire trip up and back takes only about 1 hour or so, so the cold weather should not overwhelm you. Dress warmly, and wear good hiking shoes or snow shoes. It’s a beautifully scenic hike, so be ready to take pictures. The trail itself is fairly wide and easy to walk on, and due to its location in a shaded valley, it tends to be free of wind.

As usual, we will visit a local restaurant afterwards. Probably the Middle Road Inn.
