Join New York Adventure Club for an exclusive after-hours pastel painting workshop at the American Kennel Club (AKC)'s Museum of the Dog. This one-of-a-kind museum showcases one of the world's largest collections of canine art.
Led by award-winning artist Karen Miura and her dog, Lucy, our fun, relaxed artistic experience will include:
- Private access to the AKC Museum after the doors close to the public
- A step-by-step demonstration on pastel painting dogs—bring a photo of your pet, or use Lucy as your inspiration!
- A chance afterward to play with Lucy and browse the museum’s collection, It celebrates the human-canine relationship through fine art and artifacts, plus dynamic exhibits and activities
- A chance to visit the museum's gift shop before heading out
We'll provide the painting supplies, and you can take your art home!

*For guests who want to paint a picture of their own pet, please bring a 5x7 or 6x8 picture (a hard copy only!), plus a photocopy of that photo. Don't have a printer? Let the museum front desk know at check in and they'll print it for you.
**Pets are not allowed inside the museum.

About the Instructor:
Karen Miura is an award-winning artist from Dutchess County, New York, who discovered her affinity for animals and love of art at an early age. Karen also works as an animal communicator, giving her a deeper comprehension of her animal subjects: @artistkarenmiura. Her dog Lucy is not only well behaved, but very talented.
