TALLAC HISTORIC & TAYLOR CREEK– Saturday Morning
Join Gracie and her human (Randy) at the Tallac Historic site parking lot and explore the beauty and history of two 1900's era waterfront estates, surrounded by some of the best forestland at Lake Tahoe. This year we will add an OPTIONAL extended walk to the Taylor Creek Visitor Center that includes the Rainbow Nature Trail, and Kiva Beach.

OPTION 1: SELF-GUIDED STROLL of the Tallac Historic Site. Go back in time and enjoy the lake view, cozy beaches, beautiful grounds, and historic buildings. See it all from a series of well-maintained trails and beautifully crafted log-benches. You can walk as much or as little as you would like. To get the most out of it, allow about 30-60 minutes and plan to walk .5 to 1 mile. The EXTENDED WALK group should arrive in the historic site area between 9:45-10am.

OPTION 2: EXTENDED WALK. If you would like to see it all, join us at 9am for a guided (and slightly vigorous) walk to the Taylor Creek area, Rainbow trail, Kiva Beach, Tallac Historic, Valhalla Pier, then and back to the parking lot. The complete walk is about 3 miles (or 2.25 if you skip the Tallac section). Allow about 1.5 hours for this option
IMPORTANT NOTE: Cell coverage in the area is spotty, so we recommend knowing where to go while you have a signal.

We will meet near the "Tallac Historic Estate" southeast side of the parking lot.
