Welcome to another fun filled session of the Communication By Captivation (CBC) Drama Club, hosted by John Rodgers! In this meetup, we’re exploring the Theater Producing - Level 1 — The expansive collection of different types of artists you can expect to collaborate with. Whether you’ve dreamed of producing your own show or just want to understand how producers bring a production to life, this session is for you!

What to Expect:

1. 🎭 Introductions and Announcements
   Start with a warm welcome, brief introductions, and an overview of the session.
2. 🎬 Theater Spotlight and Reflection
   Watch and analyze a short scene. Discuss all the elements in which a Producer made happen—and reflect on how those elements influence the performance.
3. 🎭 Subject of the Day: So... What do Producers Even Do?
   A theater producer oversees the financial, logistical, and administrative aspects of a production, making sure the show can be successfully brought to the stage. They hire the creative team, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure the production stays on track from development to final performance.
4. 🎬 Interactive Producing Activity
   A budgeting game where you balance limited funds, a director’s creative vision, and real-world stage constraints. Then, using what you’ve learned, you’ll create a brief production pitch and present it to the group!
5. 🎭 Debrief and Wrap-Up
   Reflect on what you learned and leave with practical ideas for stepping into a directing role.

Whether you’re an aspiring playwright, an actor curious about writing, or someone who simply loves theater, this session is designed to inspire and spark your creativity.
