Life Day Celebration at Disneyland Park!

Join us for Wookiee Life Day at Disneyland Park!

This popular unofficial fan-driven event has been held in Galaxy’s Edge, AKA Star Wars Land, in Disneyland Park since 2019. It honors the November 17, 1978 broadcast of the Star Wars Holiday Special. The one-time airing of the not-so critically acclaimed show – ie, widely panned 😳🤦‍♂️ but had themes of family, joy, freedom, peace – has been gradually embraced over the years by fandom! It's a great pairing of the event and Galaxy's Edge with its level of immersion, role-playing opportunity. And it’s been extra special at Disneyland as it coincides with the start of the Holiday season - the park is decked out in festive decorations and offers holiday entertainment/fireworks!

We’re supporting the Life Day organizers by going on Saturday, November 15!

While the event itself is free, you’ll need to purchase a Disneyland Park ticket (or have an Inspire Magic Key) and must make a Disneyland Park reservation for November 15 https://disneyland.disney.go.com A Holiday-season 1-day ticket that day is $199 (lower per day for multiday tix) but check with AAA, other sources for discounted tix soon… just make a park reservation after, you can’t enter without one.
Parking on-site is $40 but pretty secure, going in/out/back in is allowed. Another option is to park for free at ARTIC especially if using Metrolink/Amtrak Pacific Surfliner. Attendees may message/comment each other to arrange rideshare/carpool over or even from nearby hotels with free parking lots.
(Note – compare cost of this 15 hour Disneyland ticket to the $115-480 ticket, $50-150 parking for the 3 hour NFL game at So-Fi Stadium that weekend)

The main goal of this group is to introduce attendees to new community events. Since this is a cross-Meetup, you’ll meet a new community of Disney park/sci-fi aficionados who'll freely give advice, info. We also recognize non-passholders have an additional goal of getting $$’s worth. If you’re separately in the park prior to 2:30PM or away from the main group, just follow the Comments as group whereabouts will be posted there and the Life Day schedule is in the photo section. And you don’t need to be a diehard Star Wars fan to participate, just have the open mind of an international/intergalactic traveler… and no passport is necessary!

In the show, Wookiees like Chewbacca and his family wore red robes, carried lit orbs. Red attire is thus encouraged by the Life Day organizers! This is also your opportunity to Star Wars/Disney-bound! Just note the Park attire guidelines https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/parks/dress Anything that drags on the ground is discouraged. Amazon sells orbs that will suit the purpose, $10-18. New for 2025 is an impressive projection show and the holiday fireworks show returns, both in Galaxy’s Edge!
