Let's go to Jazzin at the Shedd for their summer live music shows! We did this for the last 4 yrs with each time better than the before (unless of course it rains!)

I will arrive at 5 pm and meet the early arrivals at the front entrance by ticket area. We will then go downstairs over by Surroundings Cafe to sit outside in the terrace area. If you come at the 6 pm time then just meet the group inside where we are sitting.

They have 2 locations for music or 2 bands. 1 indoors and one outside in the terrace area. Prior years they put the canopy over the terrace area so they do not move the locations or cancel due to rain. Most of us will be downstairs at the outside terrace located near the Soundings Cafe (under the canopy or tent if it is raining)

They serve food & booze at the Shedd so everyone can buy what they want. They do not allow outside food or drinks except a water bottle

Watch live training sessions or listen to a live narrated dive.

As the sun goes down and the music heats up, relax with a drink on our breezy terrace to take in our unbeatable city view or experience the unbelievable animals that live inside. Join us at Shedd Aquarium–where great music, the city skyline, fireworks and animals come together!

Detour JazFunk is the sound of Chicago's new urban jazz scene. Its music is built on a foundation of old-school R&B's soulful and funky grooves blended with the melodic improvisations of classic and contemporary jazz. Detour JazFunk includes guitarist Phil Seed, drummer Ben "Jammin" Johnson, electric bassist Kenery Kent Smith and keyboard wizard Tim Gant.

Lake Effect: Guitarist Bob Davis and keyboardist Neil Artwick have been playing together with their larger group, Lake Effect, for 20 years.
Elegant compositions with attention to melodic detail, and compelling liquid grooves are trademarks of their sound. Lake Effect is the exquisite smooth jazz band. Their latest CD, “Brighter Moments ” showcases their unique sound of latin, funk, jazz, R&B, that all hang together with the common thread being Neil and Robert’s distinctive writing style.
