What we’re about
CMX - Conservative Christian Millenials & Xennials (29-48ish) is a for believers who live or attend church in the St. Petersburg or Clearwater, FL area. It is for those who live in Pinellas County so we can get to know our neighbors. We are an evangelical non-denominational group. Our values are laid out in more detail below. This is meant to be like the church small group or life group. It is adults only and both singles and married couples are welcome. While it is not a singles only group, it is meant to be a place where singles feel like they can belong. Since most churches focus on the traditional family, this is meant to be for adults who are not in that stage of life. We will have 2-3 meet ups each month during the week on Thursday nights. We are reading through the bible then discussing what we've read. Our goal is to bring believers in the same generation together to form friendship, encourage, pray for one another in our journey of faith. Please only request to join if you are able to attend somewhat regularly to a Thursday night meeting in the Pinellas Park area.
Our Values
We are letting you know fundamental belief’s for the group so you know if this group is a fit for you:
The Bible: The bible is the holy inspired word of God. The Scriptures are true, authoritative, and sufficient. (Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
Conservative Stewardship:
We hold conservative values both politically and spiritually advocating for the protection of life, liberty and religious freedom in both public and private spheres.
- We also hold the belief that God created only two genders, male and female.
- God's design for marriage is between one biological man and one biological woman, and sexual relationships should only be expressed within the context of male and female marriage. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; 1 Corinthians 6:9)
- We believe that God is a just God but his ideas of justice are different from the current cultural “social justice” which is divisive and marxist. Since marxism has ties with atheism and paganism, we do not want to be part of it. All races are welcome and we should focus on our commonalities such as our same Creator and identity in Christ instead of differences.
Salvation
People are the special creation of God, made in His own image. By free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Salvation is the redemption of man by the grace of God through his son, Jesus Christ and is possible by his death and resurrection. When a person places genuine faith in Jesus, they are, by God’s grace, made spiritually alive, righteous in their moral standing before God, and receive the Holy Spirit. Romans 6:23, John 14:6; 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26
Baptism
The Greek word for baptism is baptize and means “to immerse”. Baptism is symbolic of Jesus death and resurrection. We go down under the water just as he was in a grave and rise cleansed of our sins just as Jesus rose from the dead to wash us of our sins with his blood. Every Christian should be baptized and if you are not and would like to be, let us know and we will find a way to make that happen. Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-8
Christ Centered Community
We are a community of believers committed to encouraging, praying for and supporting each other in our journey of faith. We will strive to reflect His love and truth in what we do, following his example in service, humility and integrity.
