Are you wanting a deeper understanding of the foundations of yoga? Ever gone to a yoga class and felt like it was difficult to keep up with the poses and lingo? Is yoga something you have wanted to try but don’t know where to start? This class is for you.
Once a month we will take a step back, take a deep breath and break down the basics of how to practice asana (the physical limb of yoga). This class is designed to lay out the foundational biomechanics of how our body moves through poses, provide you with essential breathwork and terminology, and help you learn how to set your body up for success in basic poses.
This is a beginner level class but is available for anyone who is interested in taking their learning a little deeper. Each class will begin with a simple warm up, breathwork, and will be themed around a basic biomechanic. We will practice asanas related to this construct to give the body ample time for integration. Class will close out with a short but well earned shavasana.
Please make sure to come prepared with a yoga mat, a full water bottle, journal/writing utensil, anything you wish to utilize for your practice/shavasana and your beautiful self!
Class fee is $33 and is to be paid upon arrival.
