What we’re about
A concert series by Sandro Sidamonidze
Where music transcends geography, genre, and expectation.
Cello Beyond Border is a bold and boundary breaking concert series created by internationally acclaimed cellist Sandro Sidamonidze. At its core, this series reimagines what a cello recital can be transforming each performance into a journey across cultures, histories, and deeply human experiences.
This isn’t just a classical series. It’s a musical dialogue between East and West, past and present, tradition and innovation. From Georgian warrior dances and Romantic masterworks to contemporary soundscapes and forgotten folk melodies, Cello Beyond Border invites listeners to hear the cello not just as a classical instrument, but as a global storyteller.
Each concert is carefully curated around a central theme, emotional landscapes, cultural identity, exile and memory, or myth and modernity offering audiences not only virtuosity, but a sense of meaning and discovery. Collaborating with exceptional artists and presented in intimate, welcoming spaces, the series aims to dissolve the line between performer and listener.
🌟 The inaugural concert of Cello Beyond Border takes place on July 10th, 2025, in Midtown Manhattan, presented in collaboration with Groupmuse. This debut program features works by Popper, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and Tsintsadze, and marks the beginning of a concert experience that crosses musical and cultural borders with every note.
Whether you’re a seasoned music lover or someone encountering classical music for the first time, Cello Beyond Border is an invitation to connect—through sound, through story, and through the shared experience of music that knows no borders.
