Can Winter be expressed as an ancient goddess of storms and stones?
Does Spring mark the return of a Sun goddess?
Let's honor the power of the Callieach and the beauty of Brigid as we move through the Wheel of the Year.
We can also journey to deepen our connections with these ancient forces, and strengthen our own gifts of creativity, beauty, strength and power.

Brigid is a goddess and saint beloved by both pagans and Christians in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the US and around the world. She is also known as a triple goddess of healing, of fire and the forge, and of poetry and inspiration. There are groups of "flamekeepers of Brigid" who take turns lighting a candle for Brigid in their homes on a cycle of 20 days.

The Callieach is often described as an ugly old hag. But beneath this image is a primordial power of nature ... she who threw down boulders to make the mountains of Scotland, stirred up one of the biggest whirlpools in the world, and brought the snows of winter. But in Ireland, she goes through cycles of youth and age, of beauty and decay. Not easy to love, but necessary for growth and power?
